better to renteria than to ownteria

Oh no! I'm sorry, I can't give you my autograph. And it's not because I'm one of those celebrities that doesn't "do" autographs. It's because I'm not a celebrity at all. You see, you've gotten me confused with a Renteria Pinot Noir, but I'm actually just a normal guy: Frank Peters.

No, please: don't be embarrassed. It's an easy mistake to make, considering my garnet color and well-integrated bouquet. In fact, you aren't the first person to believe that I'm... Oh, did you hear something? Oh... umm... that's nothing. Certainly not a flock of griffins... that I just happen to have in my back... pocket.

Okay, look. I'll give you my friggin' autograph if you just keep quiet and don't make a big deal, okay?

2012 Pinot Noir, Griffin’s Lair Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
Silver Medal, 89 points (Highly Recommended), World Wine Championships Award
The Pinot Noir from the Griffin’s Lair Vineyard is delicate on the palate, yet has a medium body that finishes with a fresh, crisp acidity. A well-integrated bouquet gives off aromas of farmers-market fresh plums and florally violets. This wine calls out for the classic pairing of the traditional French recipe of beef bourguignon. The wine was aged 11 months in barrels prior to bottling on August 15, 2013. This wine should age well for 8-10 years.

A well-integrated bouquet gives off aromas of farmers-market fresh plums and florally violets. This dry, savory wine calls out for the classic pairing of the traditional French recipe of Beef Bourguignon.

2013 Pinot Noir, Los Carneros, Napa Valley

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast
Gold Medal, 94 points (Exceptional), World Wine Championships Award
The 2013 vintage represents the Carneros region perfectly – with a bright medium light garnet color, aromas of fresh strawberry-rhubarb pie along with creamy, toasted vanilla coffee aromas. This wine has a dry yet fruity body and a satiny, medium-long earthy finish with well-integrated tannins and light oak in an old world style. This is a lush, concentrated pinot noir.

Renteria Wines

Founded:
1997
Owner:
The Renteria Family

Renteria and his family made their mark with Renteria Vineyard Management, one of the largest grape farming firms in Northern California. In 1997 they launched their own Renteria Wines label and today produce just over 2,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. It all started in 1963 when Salvador Renteria arrived at Sterling Vineyards. Eventually, in 1987, he started his own company and passed it to the next generation in 1993, which Sal’s son Oscar now heads. Completing the circle was accomplished in 1997 when they started making wine.
