2011 Reata Carneros Pinot Noir, Barrel Select 750ml

Bright ruby red in color, the aromas exude raspberry and cherry with a hint of anise, sage and cinnamon.  On the palate, layers of intense red berry flavors jump out of the glass.  Spicy notes such as white pepper and cinnamon offer complexity and an attractive finish.

2012 Reata Reserve Pinot Noir 750ml

This Pinot Noir is ruby red in color with undertones of violet. Aromas of ripe raspberry, black cherry, blueberry, with hints of vanilla and dried rose petal. Refined and elegant on the palate with soft and supple tannins present on first entry and lingering on the mid palate.

Vineyard Notes: The grapes for this blend were sourced from one of our Napa Carneros Vineyards from one of the Southern most borders of the Napa Valley. Primarily from the Fotinos Vineyard, where soils are Haire Clay Loam, producing Pinot Noir that tends to express sweet, bright flavor and supple tannin.

The 2012 vintage was exceptional. Moderate weather throughout the growing season put little pressure on the vines and provided grapes with nicely balanced chemistries. Dry and warm late fall temperatures allowed clusters to ripen evenly and fully with yields averaging up to 20% over previous years. Vineyards produced fruit with intense varietal flavors and much deeper color and softer tannins were seen throughout both Napa and Sonoma Counties.
