Features
Located in the heart of Monterey County, Ranch 32 emerges from the westerly foothills adjoining the scenic benchlands. Great wines originate from perfectly-situated vineyards and Ranch 32, with a blessed microclimate and gentle slopes of Lockwood shaly loam soils, is such a place.
At Ranch 32, we seek to showcase the natural character of each wine. Our estate grown grapes are harvested at the peak of sugar ripeness, acidity and aroma so that each wine is a true expression of the varietal and vintage. We’re absolutely serious about how we craft each bottle of Ranch 32, but we enjoy our wines with great pleasure. We invite you to do the same.
2012 Ranch 32 Cooper's Blend, Monterey County 750ml 6-Pack
Nestled on the west side of the fertile valley lies our Ranch 32, where warm sunny days are tempered by the cool coastal conditions of Monterey County. This environment allows the fruit to hang on the vine and develop complex flavors and intense varietal character.
The 2012 Cooper’s Blend is a proprietary red wine that is a harmonious blend of five red varietals. The Petite Sirah brings very dark, purple-edged color and intense dark fruit flavors. The Merlot and Syrah offer bold blackberry and juicy cherry and the Petit Verdot contributes exotic violet aromas and concentrated fruit. A small amount of Tempranillo adds a subtle spice note. The result is a wine of complexity and structure, with layer after layer of flavor. The smooth tannic structure makes this well balanced wine a natural partner for food.
- Gold Medal, Riverside International Wine Competition
Specs
Winemaking: The grapes were destemmed, crushed, and fermented in small lots in open top fermenters. The firm cap of skins and seeds that bubble up and form on the surface during red fermentation was gently “punched down” several times a day. To add complexity and retain character, each variety was fermented separately. During the blending process just prior to bottling, the proportion of each varietal was chosen to accentuate the richness of flavor and maximize depth, complexity, mouthfeel and finish.
- Appellation: Monterey, 100% Estate Grown
- Varietal Composition: Petite Sirah 50%, Merlot 21%, Syrah 16%, Petit Verdot 10%, Tempranillo 3%
- Alcohol: 13.5%
- pH: 3.7
- Harvest Brix: 24.2° – 25.2°
