Strange things are afoot

Pomo? Like post modern?

This Pomo Nation Zinfandel is the perfect complement to your pomo lifestyle. It can be enjoyed out of a traditional wine glass or a non-traditional wine glass or a bowl. You can pour it into an idea and swirl it around. You can drink it in the summer or in the winter, bundled up in sweaters made of warm emotions.

Sip it, and you will taste wild berry and plum flavors, a bit of cocoa, hints of nostalgia and innocence, notes of flight and awakening. This all comes before the amazing peppery finish. Or, perhaps the finish is not peppery. Perhaps the pepper is finishy. That is, if you actually believe that anything really ever finishes.

So pour yourself a glass. Or don't. Or maybe just feel yourself a glass. Or love yourself a glass. But, most importantly, enjoy.

Features

2007 Pomo Nation Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley 750ml 4-Pack

The 2007 Zinfandel is certain to get your attention with a terrific mélange of oak and blackberries. You will also get plenty of wild berry and plum flavors, with a bit of cocoa, just before an amazing pepper finish.  This lush, decadent, powerful North Coast red wine is a meaty, earthy wine that manages to deliver impressive power without going over the top.  If you like a wine with big shoulders and a complex mix of flavors - that goes great with smoked meat and barbecue sauce - it could be right up your alley.  It finishes long and clean. Just what you would expect from the premier Zinfandel growing region in the world – the beautiful Dry Creek Valley. Serve with grilled steak, venison or a hearty stew or pasta dish.

Healdsburg, CA
In California the Pomo Indians have the largest Native American population in the state. Long before there were any vineyards, long before any non-Indian settlers, the Pomo Indians lived in the Dry Creek Valley. Some say there are more than twenty thousand Pomo Indians in California, mostly Northern California. It is this same region of the world, the North Coast county regions of California, where some of the best wines in the entire world come from.

Pomo Nation Wine Group principals Gary Ray Cordova and Ben G. Ray III have both worked in Indian Country and the federal arena and between them have close to 50 years in Tribal Government and Economic Development in Indian Country.  Both men are Pomo Indian. “When we began building the company one thing that was important to us was how we tied in the history of the Pomo Indians to the region of our product.”

Pomo Nation Wines are made at Everett Ridge Winery by Winemaker Lynn Krausmann and sourced from estate fruit.
