That's right! The complete winemaker's dozen.

Just look at you. My little 2014 Dry Rosé of Zinfandel ... all grown up. You look just as rosy as your mother did when she was your age. You’ll be quite the knockout at the party, I’m sure. But before your friends pick you up, I thought maybe we could have a bit of a chat.

So your mother told me there will be six bottles of 2014 Sauvignon Blanc East Side Vineyard at the party, too. Now, hold on, before you get all “it’s no big deal” on me, just hear me out. See, I was young and aromatic with a bouquet of passion fruit, peach, and grassy notes once ... just like them. I know what it’s like to be layered with flavors of lemongrass, green apple, and honey. I also know that well-integrated acidity isn’t the ONLY thing on their minds at this age.

Honey, please, I’m not trying to embarrass you! I just want to, you know, be careful. You’re a lovely 2014 Rosé. You have flavors of cherry, berry, and a bit of orange zest, and so naturally they’re going to be interested in getting to know you. I just don’t want you to rush into anything. I know it’s just a party but, I swear, if I hear that one of those Sauvignon Blancs got you to mingle in the same glass as him, I just don’t know what I’ll do!

Okay, fine. I know I’m being overprotective. Your mother told me I need to learn to let go, so I’ll let go. Go to your party. Enjoy yourself. BE CAREFUL. And if any of those punks come near you with a corkscrew, you call home. Daddy will have a baseball bat waiting.

2014 Sauvignon Blanc, East Side Vineyards, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley 750ml 6-Pack

Aromatic with a bouquet of passion fruit, peach, and grassy notes. The fresh flavors are layered with lemongrass, green apple, and honey. Our Sauvignon Blanc is tart-sweet and quite refreshing with well-integrated acidity. Please enjoy upon release or within a year or two as no aging is required.

Vineyard Sources: Dry Creek Valley has a great pedigree for growing and developing great fruit characteristics as well as bright acidity in Sauvignon Blanc. We sourced three vineyards for this vintage: our estate vineyards as well as two neighboring vineyards on the east side of Dry Creek. Each vineyard’s microclimate combines sun, soil and fog to retain ripe fruit and crisp flavor. Add these components to the special care and attention from the vineyard crew and the resulting wine is a wonderful reflection of terroir—wherein the sum is greater than the parts.

Winemaking: Perfect growing conditions during the summer and drought conditions accelerated the ripening of the grapes and we began harvesting Sauvignon Blanc on August 20th. It brought excellent quality, high intensity of aromas and balanced acids in the fruit. Once crushed and gently pressed into temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks the juice was cold-fermented at 55 degrees to slow fermentation and to retain delicate varietal nuances. The wine is bottled a few months after harvest without oak aging or malolactic fermentation. We continue to create this Sauvignon Blanc to capture freshness and showcase the luscious Dry Creek Valley fruit.

2014 Dry Rosé of Zinfandel, Signature Selection, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley 750ml 6-Pack

Enticing aromas of rose petals, vanilla cream and sweet strawberry are nicely balanced. Crisp taste meets cherry, berry and a bit of orange zest with a great framework of acidity. A refreshing finish lingers between tartness and fruitiness. This potpourri of flavors over time will take on a jammy element but don’t wait too long—rosés are made to be enjoyed upon release.

Over the years, we have refined our approach when it comes to the style of our Dry Rosé. The focus is on crisp acidity and true varietal character allowing the fresh Zinfandel flavors to shine. The grapes were picked between August 22 and September 6 with a near-perfect growing season giving the fruit good concentration of aromas and flavors. Our Rosé is made by combining free run juice from early picked grapes (65% of the blend) and 35% saignée (juice which was drawn from the fermenting tank of fully ripened Zinfandel). Fermentation is finished in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Even though we make it in a dry style, the wine retains a hint of sweetness because of the fruitiness of the Zinfandel grape. Bottled a few months after harvest, the wine captures the freshness of the vintage.

The year was 1927. President Calvin Coolidge captured the imagination of nobody. Babe Ruth hit home run after home run powered by little more than whiskey and sausage. And John Pedroncelli, Sr. bought a vineyard and winery in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County. Since then, four generations of Pedroncellis have weathered Prohibition, wine booms and busts, and changing tastes. And they’re still a family-owned operation making acclaimed premium wines. Wherever you are now, Sultan of Swat and Silent Cal, this next glass is for you.
