No man is an island, but only one man is on this island
I was all alone in my mansion on my uninhabited private island being waited on by my staff of trained palm trees when I read a statement from the Pear Valley Vineyard that “everything in life is better when shared.” I was so surprised I spit out the the cocktail that Fernus, the bartender tree, had prepared for me. He mis-precieved my expulsion as dissatisfaction with his craftsmanship and so hung his coconuts in shame, but so astounded was I that I did not bother to apologize.
Could it possibly be true that I have been doing something wrong? For example, would it be better to share 2009 Pear Valley Grenache than to consume it alone? Is it better to experience the rich and vibrant nose redolent of strawberries, cocoa, and cinnamon toast that segues into cherry, cranberry and cedar with someone else present? Would its zestyness on the palate be zestier with another? Are its flavors of rhubarb, strawberry and vanilla flavors highlighted by ginger and nutmeg spice best paired with friendship?
I ponder these questions and many others but I have yet to find my answer. I would love to ask an expert in companionship, but alas, there are none on this private island. Such is the life.
