Pinot Comes Alive!

When you've got too many hits to play them all, put 'em in a medley.

You know how it is if you've ever seen the Rolling Stones, or Madonna, or Barry Manilow (what? he's criminally underrated) in concert. Everybody in the audience wants to hear their one ultimate all-time favorite song. And if they all got their wish, the show would last eight or nine days.

So these superstars throw a couple of medleys in the set list. That way, they can romp through the choruses of a whole stack of classics in a few minutes. So even if all of the people can't hear all of their favorites, most of the people can hear some of their favorites.

That's what Panther Creek - who are kind of like the Who meets Michael Jackson of Oregon wineries - is doing here with their Pinot Noirs. It's pretty much physically impossible for the average person to sample every classic PN that has ever splashed down the creek. But with five different vineyards and one reserve blend present and accounted for, this six-pack serves as a manageable greatest-hits collection. Now, everybody raise your lighters...

Panther Creek Cellars has been producing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay since 1986. Founded by the acclaimed winemaker Ken Wright, Panther Creek has been recognized for its signature blends as well as single vineyard designate wines from Shea Vineyard, Temperance Hill Vineyard and Freedom Hill Vineyard.

Our location, located in McMinnville’s former power plant, in downtown McMinnville, Oregon. Built in 1923, this enormous brick building housed three massive diesel electric generators and provided power to the city for decades. It became the home of Panther Creek in 1989. Our tasting room is located right inside the main winery production area.

Panther Creek makes Pinot noir, Melon, and Chardonnay. Attention to detail and minimal intervention are the hallmarks of Panther Creek’s winemaking philosophy. Mark and Ron select specific areas of about eight different vineyards and supervise personally, controlling trellising, yields, and time of harvest. The resulting grapes are the best available, and are bottled for the most part as as reserve and single vineyard wines. Highly sought after, many of their single vineyard wines sell out at or before release.

“Panther Creek wines are Oregon’s most beautifully packaged and also the most concentrated and age worthy wines now being made in Oregon… Panther Creek has established itself as one of the most consistent, high quality Oregon wineries.”
