The Last ONEHOPE

We may be stranded on a deserted island, but I'm tired of hearing you all saying we have no hope. That's not true. We have ONEHOPE, and I'm holding it right here.

Okay, so maybe it's not the type of hope you're looking for right now. Maybe you're looking for hope in the form of a rescue helicopter or an abundant source of food, and we might not have that, but still, don't say we have no hope when we clearly do have ONEHOPE.

No, you are not hallucinating. This is not like that time you thought there was a mini mart under the palm tree. This is real. Real, delicious wine.

You still don't believe me, do you? Well, I'll prove it to you! Watch as I open the cork. Watch as a I take a sip from the bottle ... mmm, that's good. Watch as I take another sip from the bottle ... okay, that was more than a sip, but really, that's some outstanding wine. One sec, I need some more of that ... yeah, I could do this all night ... okay, just one more drink of it ...

Ah, yes, see, now that is not merely nothing. That is an excellent bottle of wine that we should be thankful we have with us here on this island. No more do I want to hear you say we have no hope. We clearly have ONEHOPE, and I'm holding it right here in my h-- oh, shoot, there's none left.

I drank our ONEHOPE.

Features

2011 ONEHOPE North Coast Reserve Pinot Noir 750ml

Harvested from primarily sixteen-year-old Marini Clone Pinot Noir, the wine was aged in a combination of 3 to 6 year old French and Hungarian oak barrels for eight months. It has a deep ruby color with enticing and easily to recognize aromas of raspberry jam, roses, ripe strawberries and allspice.  The wine opens up on the palate with flavors of ripe cranberry, cherry, and sweet vanilla overtones. Pleasant acidity and fine grain tannins allow these flavors to linger. This wines complexity will increase and improve over the next 24 months.

2011 ONEHOPE  Napa Valley Reserve Pinot Noir 750ml

This Napa Valley Pinot Noir was barrel aged for 9 months in 40% new French oak and required little adjustments and no fining. It was the blending that created such an enjoyable palate and pleasant aromas. It is light in color; however, there is a surprising complexity of flavors for such a delicate wine. The patient taster will enjoy transition from raspberry, to ripe cherry, to toasted vanilla, and finally allspice and Eucalyptus that linger in a long and pleasant finish.

2011 ONEHOPE Carneros Napa Valley Reserve Pinot Noir 750ml

Rob Mondavi Jr. handcrafted this Pinot Noir from select vineyards in the world-renowned Napa Valley. Aged for 11 months in 40% new French oak, the wine expresses wonderful aromas of raspberries, blackberries and roses. A velvety entry is followed by a full and balanced structure then a long, rich finish.

2009 ONEHOPE Central Coast Reserve Pinot Noir 750ml

Aromas of earthy mushrooms and plums meet the nose as the wine is approached, leading to a slight hint of lilac and rose petals.  Solid and bracing in the mouth, firm with a long finish accompanied by cranberries. The fruit for this Pinot Noir grew in vineyards spanning the central coast region of California including the Santa Maria Valley, Santa Rita Hills, and San Luis Obispo County.  Pacific ocean breezes help to moderate temperatures while allowing consistent and proper ripening, leading to Pinot Noirs with fruity and earthy notes and rounded mouthfeel. Enjoy this wine with roasted duck, creamy brie, or a venison steak.
