2010 Zinfandel, Old Vine Reserve 1.5L
Briary varietal Zinfandel. Old World Style and Colour. Spicy, Earthy, Refreshing, Roses, Pomegranate, Cherry Grenache like, Strawberry, Bright Red Fruits, White Pepper, Redwood Forest. Long lingering finish showing a complete wine from beginning to end. Old Vine complexity with first growth quality.
A complex wine due to the blending of great Old Vine vineyards. The wine is from the Shenandoah Valley and Fiddletown areas of Amador county with a little Napa Zinfandel as well. All of these “Old Vine” vineyards produced small bunches of high extraction. These Vineyards were planted in the days when horses were still used for cultivation. They are non-irrigated, stand-alone head pruned vines that express the old world Zinfandel terroir.
