Merleaux Wine Company took the versatile merlot grape and added a version of Cajun spices in the form of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Sangiovese to give the wine its certain je ne sais quoi. The Merleaux Merlot has ripe cherry, hints of sweet raspberry, briary spices with a lush and lasting finish. An opulent Merlot with rich tannins that pairs with red beans and rice, etouffee, turducken, jambalaya, pasta, meats and chocolate.
