It's raining moscatos and mosdogos.

Imagine, for a moment, you are looking into a goblet filled with vibrant hues. You smell its tropical aromas and you can only imagine how delicious the flavors will be. You lift the goblet to your lips, look down at the wine-

-and suddenly, you see the dark, cruel eyes of a kiwi bird, about to stab you with its beak. This is what WON'T happen when drinking a Maryhill Moscato di Canelli.

Because, you see, Maryhill is full of aromas like tropical aromas, orange sorbet, sweet, summer peach, and ... kiwi. But kiwi the FRUIT, friends, not kiwi the BIRD.

Now, we're not saying kiwi the bird lacks style and grace. Everyone we've talked to tells us that kiwi the bird is charming, and enjoyable, and the sort of bird you'd want to come and hang out at your party. But to drink? The same people inform us it tastes nothing like kiwi the FRUIT. And that's what the Maryhill Moscato offers you, with a few other additional flavors we've already mentioned above and that we're not going to repeat here because you should have been paying attention.

Drink the fruit, adore the bird. That's the Maryhill way.

2012 Maryhill Moscato di Canelli, Columbia Valley
Best of Class, Double Gold - Grand Harvest Wine Competition

Enticing tropical aromas, kiwi, orange sorbet and sweet, summer peach build to a palate of golden raisin, macadamia nut and vanilla.  Soft textured, floral and sweet.

The 2012 vintage tracked as a wonderful year across all Washington state AVAs and was significantly warmer than the previous two years. The vintage was consistent in ripening without dramatic heat spikes which can cause undue stress on berry development. Color developed earlier in the growing season allowing for full tannins to mature in the reds as well as moderate alcohols and balanced acidity in both the whites and reds.

About the Vineyard
Sourced from award-winning Gunkel Vineyards (Estate) in Washington State’s Columbia Valley AVA

About the Winemaking
Throughout harvest, Winemaker Richard Batchelor worked closely with local growers and visited each vineyard to taste for maturity and ripeness - determining the precise moment to pick the fruit. During the cool hours of the morning, grapes were machine harvested to minimize any enzymatic action to preserve fruit characters and were pressed upon arriving at the winery. Allowed to settle 48 hours, the juice was racked off these solids and lees. This wine was fermented slow and cold over 40 days to ensure maximum yeast interaction and to enhance the body. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was filtered before bottling.
