Our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is from California's gold rush country in the picturesque Sierra Foothills of El Dorado County. Here, elevation is the quality key with vineyards located between 600 & 3400 feet on the lower reaches of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
The Goedeck-Liu vines are at 2400 feet; this sloping southwest-facing vineyard's deep granitic soil and warm days develop this Cab's abundant flavors, while cool nights (as much as 35 degrees cooler!) naturally maintain the desired balance of acid, a perfect Cabernet micro-climate.
2006 Lang Wines Reserve Zinfandel, Amador County, Oakmont Vineyards 750ml
The wine presents aromas of plum, ripe blackberries and campfire and flavors of cherries, pralines and coffee with cream. Delicious, rich, big and pretty with a long juicy finish, this Reserve has exceeded even Lang Wines' own high expectations.

Bob and Marsha Lang produce Zinfandel, Syrah, Barbera and Sauvignon Blanc from personally selected family-owned Sierra Foothill vineyards in Amador County. Known for deep, granite-based soils, California's oldest Zinfandel vines are grown here in these picturesque gold-country valleys.
Amador's vineyards lie at elevations above 1200 feet & produce robust and spicy Zinfandels whose characteristics define this unique California varietal. The Lang’s emphasize the vineyard's unique contribution to wine quality.
Production now tops 1800 cases each year; the Lang’s intend to continue their twenty six-year history of producing small quantities of Amador Zinfandel, Syrah and Barbera from the best vineyards in California’s finest Zinfandel region. Winemaker Mark McKenna and the Lang’s visit these select vineyards often from winter pruning to bud-break in the spring and especially to determine the exact day to harvest in the fall.
The consistent quality of Lang Wines results from a continuing cultivated harmony of cooperation between small, but exceptional wine-growers in Amador County and the Sierra-foothills and our winemaker, Mark McKenna. Enjoy!
