Riatta is a red blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Merlot from Paso Robles. This garnet red blend has a full nose of fresh picked berries, anise, and vanilla bean. The Zinfandel was chosen for strawberry and pepper characters, Syrah was chosen for depth and dark fruit, the Petite Sirah were chosen for color and structure, and Merlot was chosen for elegance and softness in the middle. Together they create a beautiful blend. This full bodied wine is great with any cheese, roasted meats, or pasta dish.

One of the oldest wineries in the Paso Robles AVA, Castoro Cellars is said to have taken the backwards approach to developing a brand. They began making wine in the early 1980s, and, over the course of the next ten years, bought equipment and opened a tasting room. The winery site was purchased in 1991, and within the past decade, existing vineyards were purchased and new vineyards planted.
