Gordon, listen. We appreciate your enthusiasm, and to be honest it was pretty funny at first, the whole, “This Inspiration Vineyards 2008 Los Carneros Pinot Noir 3-Pack is my inspiration,” thing. But we’re starting to wonder if maybe you’re getting a little carried away. Well, because that’s your fourth glass of “inspiration” already.
I don’t blame you, man. Strawberry flavors, subtle earthiness and hints of tobacco, and a distinct lack of overbearing oak flavors make this a Pinot Noir worth enjoying. But you’re starting to teeter over from “inspired” to “Bukowski” and I think you’d be better served in finding inspiration from a glass of water.
No? Okay then. I’ll just be over here, waiting for inspiration to overtake you so I can put this Sharpie to use.
2008 Los Carneros Pinot Noir
Very reminiscent of Inspiration's award winning 2007 vintage, this wine is potentially another award winner and the last vintage from this vineyard in Los Carneros! You will find flavors of strawberries with an earthiness and hints of tobacco, which makes this wine seductive and as alluring as those Pinot specimens found across the sea in France. Inspiration Vineyards believe that Pinot Noir should not be masked by a lot of oak flavors; for this vintage like others, they used two- and three-year-old French oak during the 11 months that this wine aged; allowing for a beautifully balanced wine that will improve with age.
