Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.

Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.

You missed it! But Today's Woot is waiting!

Moon Flight

Okay, TECHNICALLY two two-packs isn't a flight. But c'mon. Let us have a little poetry in our descriptions.

Truth = beauty. Beauty = truth. At least, that's the excuse we're giving for making "flight" jokes about these Harvest Moon Late Harvest Zinfandel bottles. Because otherwise, we'd have to answer some hard questions about truth in advertising.

Like, if we write a haiku like "two thousand and nine/also two thousand and eight/pass the moon, the flight" then we're golden, right? Because there flight and moon are clearly representative of a poetic image and have nothing to do with wine. And poetry is subjective, unlike the delicious taste of dusty spiced fruit, dark cocoa coffee aromas, and an explosion of juicy and bright raspberry.

But imagine we suddenly say "this 2008/2009 flight from Harvest Moon" instead. See, that's concrete. Next thing you know, we're in court, standing in front of a judge, trying to explain how a four pack of 2008 and 2009 wines is sort of a kind of flight, maybe, you know, if you stretch the definition. And that won't ever fly. We'll be in jail faster than you can say "good for a decade of cellaring" and we aren't going to jail! Not over a wine writeup, no sir!

So please, remember: these are four bottles, two from one year, two from the next. And if YOU think that's a kind of flight, that's YOUR opinion! All we're doing is trying to spread poetry to the world. And if that's a crime, throw us in prison!

Except not really. We're too pretty.

2009 Harvest Moon Late Harvest Zinfandel 375ml 2-Pack
The 2009 Estate Late Harvest is one of exotic juiciness made in a balanced dessert wine approach. With aromas of dusty spiced red fruit, this wine explodes on the palate with juicy bright raspberry. The tart yet slightly sweet fruit lingers long enough to make one not forget its lovely profiles yet leave the palate without the sticky syrupy after taste. Expect this wine to cellar beautifully for the next 5-8 years.

2008 Harvest Moon Late Harvest Zinfandel 375ml 2-Pack

This 2008 growing season birthed Harvest Moon's most balanced and elegant late harvest to date.  Packed full of dark cocoa coffee aromas followed by a medium mouth feel and a finish of juicy tart cran-raspberry.  Their 2008 Late Harvest showcases tasty balance between Russian River Valley fruit, viscosity (residual sugar) and natural high acidity, allowing for at least a decade of cellaring.  For those who exhibit patience with this wine, they'll be rewarded with a fully integrated (it smells like it tastes) dessert wine that will knock your guests' socks clean off. Otherwise, open and enjoy it while it's young and feisty.

Harvest Moon Estate & Winery

The Pitts family
Russian River Valley, CA

Harvest Moon Estate and Winery was founded on growing, producing and bottling world-class Russian River Valley wine in a balanced, elegant style. Our premise is that Russian River Valley Zinfandel can be just as layered and complex as any Pinot Noir or Bordeaux variety in the world and receive the same respect. The Pitts family has grown quality grapes in the Russian River Valley since 1976. In 2000, son Randy reverse migrated from San Francisco back to Sonoma County to assume the farming responsibilities at the family's modest nine-acre ranch. In conjunction with lessons on farming by his Dad and a few viticulture/enology courses at the local junior college, Randy made a barrel of homemade Zinfandel off the ranch's back block which turned out exceptionally tasty. Quickly concluding that properly farmed and judiciously fermented, Zinfandel has great capabilities of being California's own wine nobility. The growers-turned winemakers birthed their inaugural vintage in 2002 and look forward to making their Zinprint on the winescene for decades to come.
