Is this the entrance to the museum?
Ma questo è solo un vicolo buio.
But this is just a darkened alley.
Scultura? In America abbiamo semplicemente chiamiamo questo un cassonetto.
Sculpture? In America we simply call this a Dumpster.
Exhibit? Chiedo scusa, ma questo è solo un grande topo albino.
Exhibit? I beg your pardon, but that's just a very large albino rat.
Sto iniziando molto a dubitare questo è un museo.
I'm starting very much to doubt this is a museum.
Mi dispiace darvi tutti quei soldi per l'ammissione.
I regret giving you all that money for admission.

Features
2012 Vermentino, Paso Robles 750ml 4-Pack
Giornata took the 2012 Vermentino in a more serious direction to provide more contrast to the il Campo white. A portion of the grapes spent some time on the skins and the resulting wine was aged in clay amphora. This not only added to the texture of the wine, but also increases the complexity. The nose has a distinct honey quality with some meyer lemon with notes of Jasmine. The palate has nice density and honey-lemon flavors with some spiced clove and mustard seed.

Winery Retail Price: $90.00

Woot Shipping: (-$5.00)
Total MSRP: $105.00
- Composition: 100% Vermentino
Giornata's Vermentino this year is quite different from prior versions. In 2012 a pair of large Italian clay Amphorae was added to the cellar. This is the first release that spent time in the new clay vessels. Giornata fermented a small portion of their Vermentino on the skins for a couple weeks and drained the wine to 500 Liter Amphora for a few months of aging. The resulting wine has a great deal more complexity than previous vintages, with denser texture on the palate and a drier but longer finish. This is in contrast to the il Campo white that is fun, fresh and perfect for summer sipping without the intensity of the Vermentino.

The journey in creating Giornata started with a dream to create wines from Italian grapes grown in California employing the sensibility and philosophy of Italian winemaking. We work with the same grape vines (clonal material) as the best producers in Italy. The Central Coast of California possesses many of the attributes of the top wine growing regions of Italy. Our winemaking style leans more Italian than Californian in that we favor wines with balance and subtlety rather than intensity and extraction. We pick our grapes at lower sugar levels and handle our must gently in the cellar, thus resulting in wines that belong on the Italian dinner table possessing both ample acidity and tannin. Traveling to Italy on a regular basis, we continue to receive feedback on our efforts while researching Italian winemaking and viticultural methods.
