“Generous Mouth”

A wine with a mouth more generous than Julia Roberts’.

The 2010 Fleuron Chardonnay has a lot of great characteristic, but main thing you’ll notice is its generous mouth. Mouth generosity is one of the most important features of a wine, and a generous one can be hard to come by. Getting a wine with a stingy mouth can cause a whole heap of problems, but don’t worry, the mouth on this one is highly generous. Now, not everyone thinks that wines should have a generous mouth. But they’re wrong; it’s important that your wine have a generous mouth. Others think that people talk about the mouth generosity simply because they like seeing the phrase “generous mouth” as much as possible. “We get it,” they say, “‘generous mouth,’ ha ha, now cut it out.” But they bring up a good point about a generous mouth; namely, that it’s a phrase that actually exists. In fact, all wines can be put into two categories:

-Those with a generous mouth
-Those without a generous mouth

As discussed earlier, you’re going to want to go with one in the “generous mouth” category. Anyway, we hope this discussion about mouth generosity has been helpful, and we’d like to leave you with one final thought: generous mouth.

Capture Wines

Founded:
2008
Owners:
The Foster Family, Ben and Tara Sharp, and founding winemakers May-Britt and Denis Malbec
Location:
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County
We established Captûre Wines because we are inspired by our estate vineyard, which rises nearly 2,500 feet above the Alexander Valley floor in Sonoma County, and we shared a vision of crafting a portfolio of world-class, Bordeaux-style wines.

Captûre Wines represents the marriage of time-honored Bordeaux winemaking with the intense fruit character of our organically farmed mountain estate, Tin Cross Vineyards. Renowned winemaking team May-Britt and Denis Malbec, formerly of Château Latour in Bordeaux, create our wines to bring out the rich personality of our terroir. The resulting wines are elegant expressions of depth, nuance and longevity.

When the Foster family first visited the rugged slopes of Pine Mountain, they knew they had discovered the perfect home for their family and the perfect place to grow world-class Bordeaux wine grapes. Along with Ben and Tara Sharp, and founding winemakers May-Britt and Denis Malbec, they launched Captûre Wines in 2008, on a parcel of land that rises from 1,600 to 2,500 feet above the Alexander Valley floor in Sonoma County, California - a picturesque spot with breathtaking views and a rich winegrowing heritage.

The mountain estate, historic Tin Cross Vineyards, has been planted to vine since early homesteaders first settled here in 1855. In keeping with the legacy of these pioneers, the team works hand-in-hand with the earth, using sustainable farming methods that result in mountain-grown wine grapes of uncommon intensity.

In the winery, time-honored Bordeaux methods from our renowned winemaking team give these grapes their finest expression for wines of depth, nuance and complexity.

Captûre Wines - Bordeaux tradition, frontier spirit.
