Fenestra Winery

Founded:
1976
Owner:
Lanny Replogle
Location:
Livermore, CA

Lanny Replogle, a retired chemistry professor from San Jose State University, started making wine as a hobby in the early 1960s. His passion for the craft of winemaking soon outweighed his passion for teaching chemistry and the winery was born. Lanny and his wife Fran along with their two young boys started making wine professionally in 1976 at the historic Ruby Hill property. In 1980 they moved their production to the century-old George True Winery. The fifth winery in the Livermore Valley at the time, Fenestra was also the first boutique winery. Steeped in grape growing and winemaking history since the 1840s, the Livermore Valley currently boasts over 60 wineries. Fenestra winery specializes in a large variety of classically balanced, award-winning wines.
