Seeing Red

Admittedly, a “Red Trio” leaves some room for ambiguity.

“I can’t wait to get home and try that Estrella Creek Estate Red Trio I ordered.”

“Red Trio? What’s that?”

“Well, it’s three types of w—”

“Wait, don’t tell me. I’m keen to guess.”

“Ok…”

“Is it three types of redwood?”

“What? No. Are there even three types of redwood?”

“Are you serious? There’s Sequoiadendron giganteum, Sequoia sempervirens, and Metasequoia glyptostroboides. Wow, you need to get out more.”

“Well, I’m glad you know that, but no, I do not currently have three large trees waiting for me in a package on my doorstep.”

“Fair enough. Red Trio…let’s see. Are they the three extant Communist states?”

“…”

“You know, Red Trio. Right?

“…”

“So People’s Republic of China, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.”

“You think I ordered three autonomous nations to be delivered to my home?”

“Yes.”

“Well, you’re wrong. And you forgot about Cuba. SNIPPITY SNAP!”

Winery Details

Estrella Creek

Founded:
1977
Owners:
The Mays Family
Location:
San Miguel, CA
The Mays family has a history in Paso Robles dating back to 1916. Peter’s mother, Lillian, was born in the area that year. After 30 years in southern California, she returned to Paso Robles and worked for a number of years at the Paso Robles Inn, while young Peter rode his tricycle around the grounds often getting in trouble for running over the flowers.  Peter’s mother remained a resident of Paso Robles until her passing in 1999.

Peter and Beverly bought their 40 acre Paso Robles property in 1977. After a few years spending weekends and holidays shaping the undeveloped land, the Mays family made the final move from the San Francisco Bay area in 1981. We have called the 40-acre ranch home ever since.

4M Vineyards, located in the scenic foothills of the Paso Robles appellation, is family-owned-and-operated, focused on growing premium Syrah, Petite Sirah and Viognier grapes for our limited edition wines bottled under our own Estrella Creek label.
