2007 Pinot Noir Silacci Vineyard, Monterey 750ml

This magnificent Pinot Noir is crafted with special fruit from the Silacci Vineyard. It is elegant and refined on the palate with purity of fruit, good acidity, fine tannins and a very long finish. 2007 was a great year to make wine on the California coast. De Tierra Vineyards were blessed with well-balanced canopies and a long, mild fall which led to full phenolic ripeness and wonderful balance. Keeping with the character of the vintage, their 2007 Monterey Pinot is accessible, elegant and with well-balanced fruit, acid and structure. On the nose, rich black fruit and boysenberry combine with forest floor and damp earth elements, red plum, cassis, vanilla and hints of black cherry. The palate is focused around red cherry flavors highlighted by some desert sage or herb de provence accents.

2007 Pinot Noir, Monterey 750ml

Di Tierra Vineyard's 2007 Monterey Pinot Noir offers a return to a more delicate style of Pinot Noir. The nose begins with a lovely floral and rose promise. Strawberry and Santa Rosa plum notes are balanced with a touch of rhubarb leaning to a clean and crisp finish.

2008 Chardonnay, Estate Grown, Monterey 750ml

A elegantly aged and well-integrated example of a classic Burgundian style of Chardonnay. The nose offers ripe pear, a hint of spice and a finish of very soft tropical notes. This wine has good viscosity, an excellent structure and a lingering finish on the palate. This wine is drinking at its peak now. It will pair beautifully with elegant seafood dishes, cream sauces, and roasted chickens with garlic.

  • Alcohol: 14.1%
  • Production: 750 cases

The wine for this blend was aged in 40% new French oak for softness and complexity and 60% second year old French oak for spiciness and vanillin character. The wine was aged ten months and racked only once, just before bottling, to retain maximum richness and fruit character.  This Monterey appellation Pinot Noir is from some of the finest vineyards in Monterey County: the Silacci (90%), and Corral De Tierra Estate (10%). These vineyards exemplify how this area is ideally suited for Pinot Noir.  The 2007 Pinot Noir vintage was marked by the gentle onset of harvest. It commenced on October 6th and proceeded slowly until November 20th. All picking decisions were based on ripeness of flavor, not necessity, and that is a beautiful thing.

2008 Chardonnay, Estate Grown, Monterey 750ml
