The Davis Family Vineyards Rouge only shows up under very special circumstances. Some people call it magic. Other people get very upset and complain there’s no such thing as magic and make you read charts and graphs from a Facebook page and then post a link to Ricky Gervais’ Twitter feed to close the whole thing out. And maybe they’re right, and maybe it’s not a special kind of magic. Maybe it’s just the way the universe works.
But whatever you call it, the 2007 Davis Family Vineyards Rouge has it. Robust, big fruit, bursting with black pepper and thick tannins, there’s just something special about this wine. Something that one might go so far as to call… enchanting?
Just be sure you don’t use that word loosely. Some people these days just won’t tolerate any abracadabra.
2007 Davis Family Vineyards Rouge
Davis Family Vineyards is located on a ridge top in the center of California’s renowned Russian River Valley. We have Zinfandel vines that were planted in 1896, and young hillside plantings of Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Chardonnay. We also make a few barrels of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon with grapes from friends like the Dutton Family, who have deliciously distinctive vineyards. We are a small family winery that thinks everything matters from vineyard to bottle. We make only small lots of wine and literally handcraft each and every one. We are passionate in our pursuit and believe wine is an essential element in a rich and wonderful life---adding a delicious layer to both meals and to friendships.
