2010 Cycles Gladiator California Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml 4-Pack

True to its appellation, the 2010 Cycles Gladiator Cabernet has the strength and power characteristic of wines from Lodi. A deep purple color supports a dense, black cherry dominated aroma. Cherry flavors continue to headline through to the finish, supported by lighter accents of plum, cola and cedar. A big, muscular wine, a weighty tannic structure make their presence felt throughout.  A show stopper on its own, this wine would pair beautifully with grilled bison hamburgers with stone ground mustard.

2010 Cycles Gladiator Petite Sirah 750ml 4-Pack

Bold and fruit-forward, the Cycles 2010 Petite Sirah is effusively fragrant, with exotic spice, white pepper and blueberry aromatics that hint of the richness to come. Toasted oak, caramel and plush, dense fruit flavors in the mid-palate are highlighted by spicy details of nutmeg and cinnamon. The generous flavors are supported by a firm tannic structure, excellent balance and a long, luscious finish. This Petite Sirah would pair well with the richness of sautéed foie gras or a lovely duck confit as well as roasted meats such as lamb or prime rib.

2011 Cycles Gladiator Lodi Zinfandel 750ml 4-Pack

The Cycles Gladiator 2011 Zinfandel is dynamic, yet nicely structured, and offers up lots of personality. Dark rich garnet in color, it opens with beautiful notes of violet and cedar. Nicely integrated red fruit and tart boysenberry flavors are backed by lively acidity. Smooth and weighty mouth feel has a silky elegance with hints of cacao on the long, full-bodied finish.  Zin-lovers will enjoy pairing this wine with a variety of cuisines. A grilled leg of lamb with red wine, garlic and sage would pair nicely, as would zinfandel-braised beef short ribs. For lighter fare, a cheese, olive and caramelized onion flatbread or rich, aged cheeses would be great accompaniments to this delightfully elegant Zinfandel.

Hahn Estates

Founded:
1980
Owners:
Nicolaus and Gaby Hahn
Location:
Monterey County, CA
The spectacular beauty of California's central coast is probably the best-known region in all of California for its unique lifestyle. Monterey County's dramatic ocean scenery, historic communities, artistic culture, verdant pine forests, and bountiful agriculture have beckoned adventure-seekers, seafarers, artists, writers and vacationers for over 100 years. And the 99 miles of breathtaking Pacific coastline is something no other California county can boast.

With an inspiration to raise Monterey wines to the highest level, the wines of Hahn Estates are created with a philosophy that all great wines are special – akin to the region they were grown in. The Hahn wines celebrate everything that is Monterey – unique in thought, style and setting. In the mid-1970’s, Nicolaus “Nicky” Hahn and his wife, Gaby, bought two ranches –turned –vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands, in the renowned Monterey County appellation on California’s Central Coast.  They produced their first wines in 1980.  As we mark our 30th anniversary, the Hahns now own about 1,000 acres in Monterey County, with half in the Santa Lucia Highlands.  Hahn Family Wines produces eight brands: Hahn Winery, Smith & Hook, Hahn SLH Estate, Cycles Gladiator, Huntington, Lucienne, BIN 36, and Copa del Rey.
