2005 Corley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Aromatics of juicy red fruits, toasty sweet oak and hints of vanilla. Flavors as expected follow similarly mostly noted is rich berry pie as the wine opens up – it’s Corley's ‘everlasting gobstopper’ for the vintage. This wine once again shows nice consistency and balance throughout the entire experience – from the aromatics through to the finish. The mouth-feel is rich in texture and the finish sails on framed by firm but velvety tannins, one of the hallmarks from this long, cool vintage. This wine is drinking very well now, and should continue to develop and be enjoyed in the decade to come.
2005 Corley Proprietary Red Wine 750ml
This wine's opening stanza is a medley of blueberry, blackberry, floral and sweet oak tones. The chorus is lovely, the tannins laying down a solid rhythmic bass line, while the berry aromatics and dark fruit flavors entertain with an “echo” jam evoking some of the old-school boogie-woogie piano jams of old. The finish is sweet, lingering and smoky – like the last song of the evening in a downtown jazz club.

2009 Monticello Vineyards Estate Grown Cabernet Franc 750ml
This is a rich, well balanced expression of Cabernet Franc. This wine has a nice dark tone on the entry, with blackberry fruits and smoky tones on the palate. The wine strikes a nice balance on the mid- palate with a full body, but also vibrant tannins which frame the wine very nicely. The finish is full and lingering with a nice dark fruit and smoky tone at the end. Drink now through 2016.

This 100% Cabernet Franc was grown in Block 4 at their vineyards. The Clone X from Block 4 has typically produced the deepest and most richly textured wines each vintage. Though rainfall was little more than two-thirds of normal for the third year in a row, the timing of the precipitation was on the vine’s side. Couple that with the lack of frost and the mild, relatively cool growing season. 2009 counted perhaps only four or five high heat days overall - late spring rains delayed irrigation needs and the warm spell in June helped curtail excessive canopy development. Mother Nature managed to have it all work in unison to give vines and grapes the best scenario possible.
