Huge nose of juicy red fruits and grilled meat. On the palate the wine is loaded with lush red and blue fruits, brown spices and nice concentration. A crowd pleasing wine at a great value that you won't find everywhere. This is a follow-up to Core's hugely popular 2007 Grenache.
 
2007 C3 Tempranillo Reserve, Santa Barbara County 750ml
 
This wine is smoky and lush with powerful dark fruit flavors and herbs, with a firm backbone. Year after year C3 Tempranillo is a big hit. This year was a special vintage which warranted a reserve designation. The wine is ready to go now or age it for another 5-10 years.
 
2008 Core Grenache RESERVE, Santa Barbara County 750ml
 
Huge nose of juicy red fruits and spice. The wine possesses a fantastic palate with beautiful fruit, a thick, rich mid-palate, and a very focused, structured finish. This is a special barrel selection from Core's best- selling Grenache. Mainly 2 clones were selected for this wine. A crowd pleasing wine that is guaranteed to amaze everyone. This wine will benefit from 1 to 3 years of bottle age and then drink well for a decade.

2007 Ground Around Blend, Santa Barbara County 750ml

This wine is complex and balanced beyond belief. An intricate blend of fruits, tannin and acid.  The wine is bright and will burst upon your palate with dark red berries and black cherry with hints of licorice and the pinch of tobacco. Drink it now or age another 1-20 years.

This is a super special barrel selection from C3's 100% Tempranillo lots. It’s aged 37 months in 25% new American, 25% new French, 25% 1-year-old American and 25% 2-year-old French barrels. The vineyard is located at 3000 feet in Santa Barbara County. It’s farmed to yields of 3-4 tons/acre every year. The wine was bottled without fining or filtration.

A blend of 41% Tempranillo from Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard, 23% Tempranillo from Laetitia Vineyard in Arroyo Grande, 18% Grenache from Alta Mesa Vineyard and 18% Syrah from Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard.  This wine was aged for 47 months in a 2 year old 600 gallon French Foudre.  This was done to tone down the massiveness of this wine.

Dave Corey’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Biology from San Jose State University and a master’s degree in Entomology and Plant Physiology from Kansas State University, which was completed in 1995. Prior to entering the wine industry in 1996, Dave worked in Salinas and the Central Valley in agricultural fields including cole crops, cotton, almonds, citrus, walnuts, kiwi, table grapes, apples and stone fruit. His first position in the wine industry was as a Pest Control Advisor with Cambria Winery and Vineyards and later at Kendall-Jackson Vineyards of Santa Barbara County.
 
Dave left Kendall Jackson Vineyards in 1999 to begin Vital Vines, a viticultural company providing technical support for vineyard property owners, vineyard managers and winemaking personnel in the promotion of sustainable agriculture. He has worked with clients that include Laetitia, Barnwood, Beckman, Melville, Stolpman, Gainey, Zaca Mesa, Sea Smoke, Le Bon Climat, Sine Qua Non, Rideau, Carhartt, Rusack, Westerly, Fiddlestix, Vogelzang, Andrew Murray, Evergreen, Arita Hills and Royal Oaks.
 
With a major commitment and a second mortgage, Dave gradually decreased his vineyard consulting work to focus on vineyard sourcing, winemaking duties and winery direct sales for CORE wine company which he started in 2001 with his wife, Becky. Dave passionately continues working in the same capacity today in addition to several new wine projects with family members. He can also be found pouring wine for customers at the CORE wine company tasting room in Old Orcutt, California.
