2008 Chateau Bianca Pinot Gris 750ml 3-Pack

This Pinot Gris is all about intensity. Bold flavors of green apple, pear, and lime are unabashed and inviting. A juicy beginning captures attention and lingers a long while with good fruit throughout. There are hints of orange peel and honeysuckle in the aroma. The citrus is there in the background as the wine rushes over the palate. A delicious Jolly Rancher hard candy flavor of green apple is a fantastic description for this wine. If you enjoy bold fruit flavor, citrus, and apples, then this wine will satisfy and delight you.

2008 Chateau Bianca Riesling 750ml 3-Pack

This wine offers vibrant aromas of apricots, tangerines, and green apple. The inviting fragrance hints at how refreshing this will taste. There is strong flavor here that is dominated by citrus. Green apple gives way to pineapple and orange notes. There is considerable balance between the aromas and flavors and both combine harmoniously to make this Riesling especially appealing. The tanginess tasted at the beginning lingers pleasantly through the long finish. Because of the high acidity this wine will make for an ideal food partner.

2009 Chateau Bianca Estate Pinot Blanc 750ml 3-Pack

Very dry, this Pinot Blanc made solely from estate grapes makes an ideal aperitif wine. Served with shellfish such as oysters, clams and mussels it has some lime and lemon zest aroma and doesn’t linger on the finish. Finishes clean like a French “Muscadet” primarily grown and enjoyed where the Loire river in France and the Atlantic meet, a region where seafood is abundant. If allowed to linger on the mid-palate, the wine has a pleasant oily texture contributing to an interesting mouth feel. A French “Muscadet” would be aged often “sur lies” to add some depth, where this Pinot Blanc would not be thus aged. Would make a great cocktail, aperitif, or pre-dinner wine. A summer patio would be best enjoyed with some light food or appetizers and this Pinot Blanc. A light summer salad sprinkled with goat cheese, brie on crostini, or havarti with Rykrisp crackers. Try and not serve too cool as the temperature will dampen its terrific texture. Serve just slightly chilled.

2008 Chateau Bianca Chardonnay 750ml 3-Pack

This Chardonnay has an inviting and intriguing aroma. The dominant flavors are apple and kiwi, along with hints of citrus fruit. Aromatic and crisp, there is a delightful tang in the beginning that compares strongly to the crisp flavor of Sauvignon Blanc. Grapefruit, Granny Smith apple, and pomegranate are all integrated into the flavor. A lovely wine that follows the traditional style in Burgundy, France with no use of oak and emphasizing pure fruit flavors and plenty of them. Will accompany seafood well and will please with its strong floral scents and its almost pineapple-like flavor. High acidity makes this Chardonnay delightfully crisp.

Chateau Bianca Winery

Founded:
mid-1980's
Owners:
The Wetzel Family
Location:
Dallas, OR
Chateau Bianca Winery is a family owned and operated winery established in the mid-1980’s. The annual production is intentionally small and committed to high quality, while simultaneously offering an exceptional value. The majority of the production includes Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. There is also a limited production of Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Marechal Foch, Chardonnay, Ruby Port, Vin de Glace, and Gluhwein, a hot-spiced wine from an old family recipe.

Originally from Germany, the Wetzel family has been producing award-winning wines for four generations. Thirty-five years of producing wine in Oregon has given them a unique insight few wineries share in this ever changing industry.
Winemaker Andreas Wetzel’s attention to detail consistently results in many prestigious wine awards. Andreas’ great-grandfather began wine production in the region of Wurzburg, Germany. This love of winemaking continues, four generations later, here in the United States.

The Willamette Valley with its gentle rolling hills and unique microclimatic sites allows Oregon to produce some of the finest Pinot Noirs in the world. Chateau Bianca Winery's estate vineyard is trained to a vertical upright canopy. This allows for shoot positioning, leaf removal and enhanced air circulation. This in turn, develops color and concentrates flavor in their wines. Their winemaking philosophy consistently produces superior quality wines with intense flavor profiles that are marketed at an irresistible value.
