Entirely Wine

See the story of how one bottle of wine defied the odds and became a respected music journalist.

They told the Cameron Hughes bottle of wine that it was too young, that it couldn't be a music journalist, but it didn't care. It grabbed its things and left its home on Lot 204 and set out to its first show.

At the concert, the soft-spoken bottle befriended a group of fans. It told them about its dreams of being a music journalist, about how while it appeared to be a simple, small town wine with a pale straw color to it, it was so much more than that.

After the show, the bottle of wine and the group of fans followed the band, and before they knew it, they were on tour.

On the road, the adventurous wine bottle thought of home and how proud its family members living on Lot 216 and Lot 270 would be, seeing him go to show after show, conducting interviews, experiencing the music industry from the band's perspective.

The tour led to a transformative experience that not only launched the bottle of Cameron Hughes wine's career as a music journalist but also taught it about life in general.

It also taught the band and their fans something about the wine. They realized it was more than just aromas of soft apple, lemon, and caramelized pears, and they grew to appreciate it for everything it brought.

With their newfound respect, they helped the bottle write its story, and not before long, the bottle became the music journalist it had always dreamed of becoming.

As for you, you're more than welcome to just drink it.

Features

2009 Lot 204 Chardonnay 750ml 2-Pack

Pale straw color, with soft apple, lemon and caramelized pears in the nose. Floral accents float from the bouquet with a touch of French vanilla. On the palate, notes of pineapple present themselves along a round, creamy finish. With an incredible silky mouth-feel and subtle mineral, this wine displays characters of Burgundian Chardonnays as well as the lovely floral fruit of Napa.

2009 Lot 216 750ml 2-Pack

Pale golden color with great clarity. Presenting a marvelous bouquet of ripe white peach, golden nectarine, and white flower, this wine is rich with smoky oak and peachy character. It's crisp and quenching with energizing acidity, offering tiers of jovial fruit. Above the merriment of this wine is serious juice, offering a great palate. Zippy and bright with a rich midpalate of fresh peach fruit this wine will make a fantastic spring aperitif wine and a welcome partner to Asian cuisine, fruit salads, picnics, and poolside.  Drink this now, and enjoy through the spring and summertime.

2010 Lot 270 Sauvignon Blanc 750ml 2-Pack

Lot 270 has a striking nose of grapefruit, melon and white flowers that is fresh and elegant. Brilliant acidity balances with bright fruit for a wonderfully balanced texture and an overall fantastic wine. This wine is a refreshing thirst quencher and comparable to much pricier Sauv Blancs.

2009 Lot 204 Chardonnay 750ml 2-Pack

  • 2009 Chardonnay
  • Oakville, Napa Valley
  • VINTAGE: 2009
  • APPELLATION: OAKVILLE, NAPA VALLEY
  • GRAPE: CHARDONNAY
  • ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 14.5%
  • PRODUCTION: 3732 CASES

Oakville Chardonnay is not easy to come by and the acquisition of this wine underscores the massive glut of Chardonnay from the 2009 harvest. Our 2009 Oakville Chardonnay was sourced from one of Napa’s largest farmers (managing over 2000 acres) that also happens to own a custom crush facility. They made the wine from perfectly ripe fruit brought in long before the rains that tortured Cabernet growers later in the season. To be honest, there is not a lot about the vineyard that we can tell you without giving away the name but who cares, the wine is great.

2009 Lot 216 750ml 2-Pack

  • Vintage: 2009
  • Appellation: Sonoma Carneros 86%, Napa County 6%, Mendocino County 8%
  • Grape: Chardonnay 86%, Pinot Blanc 6%, Riesling 6%, Muscat 2%
  • Alcohol by volume: 14.5%
  • Production: 3100

Blended out with Pinot Blanc, Riesling and a bit of Moscato this wine is what is called an “Alsacian Blend.” Given that Chardonnay is not a major part of Alsacian winemaking the winery realized it’s a fanciful endeavor but the name is meant to evoke more the style of the region, a style, those of you who enjoy less wooded wines with brighter acidity, will enjoy. Now, that’s not to say this wine didn’t see oak. The base wine for this blend saw about 25% new French oak including barrel fermentation but no malolactic fermentation so, instead of being buttery and rich, its peachy and fresh. Blend in the aforementioned varietals to the tune of about 15% and the resulting wine is a complete departure from traditional Chardonnay.

2010 Lot 270 Sauvignon Blanc 750ml 2-Pack

  • 2010 Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley
  • VINTAGE: 2010
  • APPELLATION: RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
  • GRAPE: SAUVIGNON BLANC
  • ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 13.2%
  • PRODUCTION: 5200 CASES

Sauvignon Blanc truly thrives in a region like the Russian River Valley, where warm days play with cold evenings and foggy mornings to produce great cool climate varietals. Acidity is such an integral part of any wine, especially Sauvignon Blanc. This vineyard is located in an ideal part of the Russian River Valley, providing a dynamical climate for beautiful acidity in this varietal.
