Welcome to the Drinking Week

You can think of it as "Monday", or you can think of it as "Bodegas Paso Robles Rosé de Garnacha Day".

It's all in how you look at things. Sure, you can spend the day sighing about the weekend that just ended, and dreading another workaday week of working days all week. If you want to feel miserable, there's no law against it.

Or you can think of this as the day when Bodegas Paso Robles Rosé de Garnacha first came into your life. When you look at it like that, all those Monday hassles fade into a haze of watermelon, honeydew, and candied fruit, especially served ice cold.

We don't necessarily recommend starting the workweek by actually drinking it. But you're a grownup, do what you want.

Features

2012 Bodegas Paso Robles Rosado 750ml 3-Pack

The Rosado has a long finish for a rosé-style wine and is the classic copper-pink associated with wine made from Grenache in the Provençal method.  This method, unlike the saignée method, is based on using the grapes only for making rosé.

Once picked, the winemaker destemmed the grapes and left the juice on the skins for 17 hours until the juice was the desired salmon-pink color.  The grapes were then pressed off.  The juice was then moved into a stainless steel tank and chilled for 3 days and then racked off to neutral oak and stainless steel barrels for fermentation.

Garnacha is the Spanish name for this grape, which is native to that country.  When the French planted it in the Southern Rhône they changed its name only slightly to Grenache.  It is one of the most important red varietals in Spain, along with Monastrell (Mourvèdre in French) and Tempranillo.
