2009 Reserve Merlot 750ml
Bargetto Winery 2009 Reserve Merlot is ruby red around the edges and shifts to the darkest of garnets in the middle. The aroma carries the fruit of fresh blackberries and black currants. There are also some earthy tones of wet leather and tobacco leaves. The mouth is filling and has a long finish. The oak aging lends its hand with notes of caramel and vanilla on the palate to accompany those fresh dark berries. This wine is built to accompany food. The tannins and acid make it stand up to most anything that is rich and meaty.

2010 Reserve Merlot, Santa Cruz Mountains 750ml
The 2010 Reserve Merlot follows the 2009 with rich ruby color that shifts to a dark garnet in the middle of your glass. Aromas are rich in black licorice, cherry oak and black currants. There is also a lingering hint of vanilla, spice and oak that develops over time. The palate is rich with dark ripe berries that linger on the finish. The oak flavors offer layers and length to the palate. There’s a rich influence from the Peter Martin Ray Cabernet Sauvignon that fills out the palate with rich tannins and offers a light earthy note to the aroma. The high tannin level and the bright acidity from our Santa Cruz Mountain Merlot make this wine a perfect complement to rich foods. Pair this Merlot with spaghetti bolognaise and BBQ ribs or enjoy with dark chocolate and creamy cheeses.
