Why the ambiguity of what the order will contain? Even right on the cusp of a new Woot day [midnight CST + 7 minutes], I might not get the aged Veg Cab?

I'm guessing most people will get the '08s until they run out.... which may or may not happen.

Here's a review and pairings of the wines offered today (not the 08')

I wasn't aware wine making involved senseless slaughter -- unless they're saying they guarantee no worms or insects were harmed in the production of this wine. Hmmm ....

From the review referenced above:

Cabernet Sauvignon:
I’m betting this would make for a great cooking wine.

Okay... I have three buck Chuck for that.

I feel lucky today, going for the 2088 Cab's

I believe eggs are sometimes used in the process of winemaking. Fining, I seem to remember . We'll have to look it up.

No, but what they said was -

"Animal products are used for the fining and clarification of many wines. The main non-vegan items utilized are Gelatin, Casein, Isinglass and Albumen(egg whites)."

In July 2012, I bought the Syrah(2008) from this winery and was very impressed. Can't talk about tasting notes. But I have waited for another offering from this winery and here it is! Won't break the bank to try them out again.

Which wine would go best with a thick, juicy, grilled porterhouse?

I realize this isn't exactly the place to report this, but it may get noticed more quickly.

I can access Wine Woot (and other woot sites) via Internet Explorer but have been getting a Woot: Server Error message on Chrome for the last hour or so. The error message has a link to contact woot, but that's not working either.

I ordered the Vegan Vine Sauv. Blanc when it was offered, and it was a lovely wine.

I need this like I need a hole in the head, but going to get some, anyway!

No issues on Chrome here either. You might try clearing out temps/cache. Also look for malware.

Hmm.. . The conversation seems to have stopped. . Definitely interested but a whole case from a producer I have never heard of is making me reluctant. Anyone else have any experience with these wines or Vegan in general?

Another offer where rattage would have helped many jump in.

Agreed! Signed up for the program years ago and despite purchasing hundreds of bottles from wine.woot the monkey has never deemed my doorstep worthy of a bottle for tasting. Guess I will let this offering pass me by. Woot gods-- time to pay attention again lest this site pass into oblivion like so many others. Would truly be a shame.

What happened to my Vegan Vine wine?? Never showed leaving the winery and now the FedEx tracking number is no longer valid?? Huh??

dwightito

quality posts: 0 Private Messages dwightito

OK. FedEx tracking is working again, but how it's back to: "8/18/2014 - Monday
1:23 am Shipment information sent to FedEx" Seems like a long time.

Same here.... still no delivery and tracker is still at the received shipping info stage...

Looking like another busted order. 2nd for me in about 2 months.

Yes, this is normal. Electronic info is sent to the shipper early to get the labels prepared. Shipping is a logistics masterpiece with wine shipped on refrigerated trucks to central locations and then transferred to trucks for local shipment.

You don't want your wine shipment hurried.

The FAQ:

How long is shipment going to take?
You should get your wine in 2-3 weeks, often sooner. We know the wait is kind of a drag. But it's still gonna taste good (maybe even better), and since we leave it to the wineries to get the wine to you, you can count on their experience to send their wine using their expert methodologies.
