“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

First, the bad news: the original offer sold out at approximately 16:25.

Now the good news:

ScottHarveyWines wrote:I like the Lake County Cab the best of all three. It is from the Red Hills sub appellation. I have been making wine from the vineyard now for almost ten years. It is the Hawk and Horse Vineyard. Go to their website and take a look. The wines from this vineyard show great complexity and structure and have won many awards.
The offer should sell out fast, because there is only 30 cases of the Napa Cab. Although I would not mind if I got three bottles of the Red Hills cab instead.

Now that I've placed my order, and summer shipping is in effect, I'm wondering when it will actually be shipped, and what will be the timing of the release of tracking info. I can't take a chance on having a UPS truck attempt delivery at the FedEx location, or vice versa, so I'm having it shipped to my home address. It's no problem to divert it to be held at the depot, as long as I know before the attempt delivery. It wouldn't matter so much, except that we'll be away from 7/5 to 7/14, which seems like a fairly likely delivery window.

Nor to me, but I do enjoy a good Kyle rant on the topic every now and then.

I think it's one of those slow, Friday afternoons. In fact, I need to stop checking the site and get ready to uncork the weekend!

I think he said what needed to be said in the last thread -- these wines were also in the offer that got sold out.

Because even though I want it I'm not sure I can justify it! Need somewhere to put the 5 overflow cases that isn't the living room floor.

Fellow wooters, come help us drink our wine!

DON'T JUMP MITCH!
This picture is of Mitch Hawkins from Hawk and Horse. He and his wife Tracy have this brand. It is completely bio-dynamic and registered organic. This bottling was from their very first crop. Not sure if it was registered bio-dynamic at the time, since it takes a number of years to get the designation. All I can say is the grapes are the type of grapes a winemaker likes to work with. My favorite wine of the original three offered.

Interesting,The Woot email I recieved shows this as sold out.
I happened to log on to Woot to read the comments on people who missed out.
I was pleasently surprised to see it still FS.

Actually it was replaced with the 06 Lake County Cab...still 2 of the Early Burgundy.

Scott's approval + new varietal = goddammit -> last wooter to woot: klezman.
