Poll: You can only use one herb/spice for the rest of your life. What'll it be?
  • 61.8% - Black Pepper 704
  • 7.5% - Cumin 85
  • 16.2% - Basil 185
  • 1.5% - Tarragon 17
  • 2.8% - Thyme 32
  • 10.3% - I'll provide my answer to this ridiculous hypothetical in the comments. 117

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Salt and garlic don't qualify for the poll.

Salt is a mineral and garlic is a vegetable. My garlic should be ready to harvest in 2 or three weeks! YEA!!!

I'll just go ahead and consider Basil and Oregano as vegetables. They're leaves, like lettuce and turnip greens.

I like your definition.

expanding on it, most spices do come from plants, so they are either vegetables or fruits.

That means that I am not limited in any way by this stupid poll.

Impossible. We have Basil, oregano, parsley, cilantro, rosemary, sage and thyme growing in our garden.

Not my definitions, that's just what they are. I can't help what buckets scientists have put stuff in, only relate it. If you look up the definitions of herbs, spices, vegetables, etc it's actually fairly clear on why things are in the categories that they are.

Without garlic, this poll is (Show some manners!) and incomplete.
