Poll: How does a celebrity's name on the label affect your wine purchasing decisions?
  • 1.8% - Makes it more likely I'll buy, if only for a conversation piece 26
  • 29.5% - Makes it less likely I'll buy - it seems less serious 435
  • 23% - Depends on the celebrity - some are real winemakers, some aren't 339
  • 45.7% - I don't pay any attention either way 673

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

EVERYBODY knows that only celebrities can make the really, really good wines. I'm talking the gooood stuff.
The more famous the celebrity, the better the wine.

I probably won't even consider buying it, unless he's hot and comes with purchase of the bottle.

Many years ago, we visited the Pat Paulsen winery in Asti (northern Sonoma county). He was single-handedly manning the shop, pouring wine and dispensing jokes. Competent wine, A+ experience.
