The next Dallas Wine Woot dinner will be on November 2nd at 6pm at Eden: http://eden-dallas.com/about.html. The corking fee is $5 per bottle, they are sweet about splitting the checks out, and the food is outstanding. We had a Wine Woot dinner here several years ago, and it was really nice. Please RSVP by October 26th. I need to give the restaurant an accurate headcount by that date.

Attending as of 10/26/2013:

My memory agrees that it was quite nice (especially the prime rib).

I should be able to make it. I remember the food was quite good, but the AC wasn't. That shouldn't be a problem in November.

If Flora is not already on your list of grapes that will be one more reason to be there.

It's not on the standard Century Club list, so I had to look it up.

"Flora is a crossing of two vinifera varieties, Semillon and Gewürztraminer, that was created in 1938 by Dr. Olmo at the California Agricultural Experiment Station. A separate red Flora hybrid exists but it is not related in anyway to the Olmo Flora."

Apparently this guy created 30 new varieties by cross breeding during his UCD career.
