“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

I've had the chipotle flavor. Worst jerky I've ever had.

I really like the Teriyaki jerky! Can't speak of the other flavors, but I'm willing to give them a try after devouring many packs of the Teriyaki.

Not for the jerky purists or aficionados, much like the frappucino version of jerky.

Having said that, a lot of people like those frappacinos. I had a sweet chili version the local grocer had on the clearance pile. I liked it well enough for what it was...not jerky, but soft, dried, seasoned pieces of meat.

any chance they might pull the plug on this early so we can get back to the wine?...or even a nice wine-worthy gadget

What a horrible woot off to get back in the game with.

At least I picked up a new Vacuum that coincidentally showed up after mine bit the dust last week....

What's with all the corn syrup? I tried the pork jerky and agree with others that the consistency and mouth feel was mushy and very atypical for dried/cured meat. I make my own jerky using a forced air dehydrator and have never once contemplated cracking open a bottle of Karo light corn syrup for any of my marinades. If you want sweetness and a somewhat moist finished product, you can use brown sugar, molasses, honey, hoisin, agave, frozen concentrated orange, apple or pineapple juices in the marinade (not too much or the enzyme will make it mushy like the Krave pork jerky).

Tasting Krave against the Costco Pacific brand seems a fair match, but in taste, I prefer the latter as it is closer to traditional jerky.
