“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

Like the Healdsburg Ranches Cab for everyday, alas only the Zine offered. The California Karma's not bad, but would prefer the Healdsburg Ranches Cab.

Whohoo Wellington!

Plenty of value here, this is just under $200 delivered, for club members.

Got this exact case back on July first and not a bad bottle in the lot. Still plenty of summer left, but these drink fine anytime.

The Chateau Bianca Pinot Noir we also had earlier was tasty, hoping for comments on this selection.

My understanding was there wasn't enough for a daily deal....not sure what the haps is, but apparently it didn't happen...bummer as WS is making some good juice IMHO.

I think I have you to blame (well thank actually) for pushing me into the Wellington white mixed case last time around. The wife and I are not white fans, but overall enjoyed the mixed case. It was a nice change of pace for us, and overall we've been enjoying these whites.

I know it is a common name, but the Collins Vineyard Chardonnay wouldn't happen to be Michael Collins, would it?

We've opened the Riesling and chard.
Here are the notes on the Riesling;

7/7/2013
Muted yellow color, fridge temp leads to little on the nose except a mild apple. On the tongue it's very tart and the flavor is almost like apple juice. The bit of sweetness bites in the finish which really seems to linger. Not one of my favorites but nice at the discounted woot price.

No notes on the chard as it was consumed by my parents before I could get a drop.

I'll wear the "enabler" badge with honor. I mostly did reds too, except for those butter/oak bomb chards in the 70's. It's only been the past couple years I've begun to appreciate well made white and rosé, and Peter does an admirable job indeed, at a fair price.

Also not a big white drinker but new house will have a wonderful patio for evening relaxation, and some cool white should be a nice treat on a hot, humid Texas evening.

As I think you should wear the badge with honor. My wife and I enjoyed a bottle of the Roussanne last night. I've been quite pleased by the overall quality of the Wellington brand for a fair price. I think this was my fourth Wellington related woot.

Wanted to get 2 cases of the Block 50, since my girlfriend and her mother really, really liked it when I ordered it on April 23rd, but apparently between then and now they're no longer allowed to ship to OH. Wonder what happened.

Opened my first Bianca chardonnay last weekend. Would have never guessed it was a chard - sour and out of balance. Would have blind-guessed it to be a cheap sauvignon blanc.

Not much to go on until others taste and comment, but in what condition was the cork? Sounds rather like a recent bottle of chard I know to be excellent that clearly wasn't.

This offer reminded me that I still have 2 bottles of Block 13 - wish I had a lot more.

Ohhh - I think I have one of those still myself. If I wasn't breaking out something special tonight, that would have to come out.

The write-up says "Now is the perfect time to prep for your end-of-summer BBQs..."

I finally got a shipping notification on this today, 11 days after placing my order. The listing for the one I bought (Aussie Reds) said 3-8 day summer shipping. It will be after Labor day (and the unofficial end to summer) by the time I get it :/

Wine takes a bit longer to ship. In summer months, they only ship M-W so wine won't languish on a truck for a weekend. Here's the FAQ info:

How long is shipment going to take?
You should get your wine in 2-3 weeks, often sooner. We know the wait is kind of a drag. But it's still gonna taste good (maybe even better), and since we leave it to the wineries to get the wine to you, you can count on their experience to send their wine using their expert methodologies.

I know it's on the way now, so I'm not too worried. Thanks!
