Better yet, who wants to see Corrado with a shaved head (not my wife & folks, by the way; that has been made ABUNDANTLY clear).

tl:dr - I'm paddling* in a Dragonboat race this weekend to raise money for Dragonheart Vermont, a group that help Cancer Survivors and their families. So I'm begging friends/family for money... again, and would sincerely appreciate some of your wine money. My "real name" for the donation form can be found by typing "Erin Enn".

Extended Details. This community has been exceedingly generous in terms of donating to charitable events where I have experienced physical trauma (Penguin Plunges). This event is actually going to be a lot of fun, so my hook for this one was $2500 = Corrado shaves his head (though since this is short notice, I'm dropping it to $2000 since I'm such an awesome guy).

torofrog countered with his own bet/challenge: $1000 raised and I run my next race in a kilt. I choose the design, he buys.

Since I'm too [self-depreciating adjective] to say, "No way," I said, "You're on!"

The Draqonboat race is this Sunday (8/4). To be reasonable, any donations posted by midnight PST on Friday 8/2 will count toward head-shaving. That gives you Friday-paycheckers and End-of-Month paycheckers no excuses!

I'll let torofrog specify the end date for the kilt challenge, but it's gotta be pretty soon thereafter since my next race in late August.

Right now I'm sitting at a very safe, Kilt-free donation level of $130. This link can change that!

* I'm told that "paddling," not "rowing," is the appropriate term for Dragonboat propulsion. To me it just sounds like fraternity hazing.

My mother's side is Graham, so I think I'll be going that route! ...of course, they may not be all that interested in me defiling the family tree!

It's not rowing or paddling, its awkward exhaustion. It's really fun, but you can't even begin to imagine how exhausting it can be. Good luck!

We had a training run in the boat last weekend. It was very exhausting... and awkward... but fun!

Friday update: For all intents & purposes, the "shaved head" thing ain't gonna happen (nowhere near the $2000 mark), but the kilt thing is well in play and halfway to the $1000 mark!

The race is on Sunday and while the head-shaving requires a bit of advance warning (and an earlier deadline), the kilt challenge deadline is somewhat up to torofrog!

Regardless, I'm grateful for every little bit from everyone who pledges!

Late, as usual. And I think I read that you already hit kilt level, but to be sure I still donated.

Now, to avoid the photos.

Good luck today.

Thanks, PB! Much appreciated! We won GOLD in our division! Pictures will certainly follow.
