July 20
August 16 (Friday)

Are people free on Labor day weekend? Or we can always push it into September.

Or do a trip to Sonoma/Napa before the PS tasting???

If Fridays are open, how about July 19th? I can't do the 20th but the 19th is fine

2014 - 20 Btl. Fjellene (10 bot), Urraca Chard (10 bot)
Last purchase: 5/3/14

2013 - 75 btl. 2012 - 98 btl. 2011 - 112 btl. 2010 - 30 btl.

Works for me. Are you volunteering your place???

I think ajrod is out of town for a wedding that weekend though. Not sure if he'll be around on Friday night.

19th would work for us.

Let me get my deck finished and I'll throw up a post. I should be able to knock out my deck in the next couple of weeks, just waiting for my pressure washer to get delivered so I can clean it, then I'll repair the stairs, paint it, and I'll be ready to go!

Friday's generally do not work for me, because quite often I get stuck at work until 8-9PM, so I couldn't commit to a Friday.

I didn't intend to encroach. Wish I had a place to hold a gathering. I just thought a thread to get it moving was better than bogging down #18. And like I said, I have wine to pick up at Scott Harvey's so I can change this to a trip to Scott's or something.

And if you want help, we can come help you and have an impromptu gathering at your place. Always fun to just hang out.

When we decided on Petite Sirah, I thought of what a shame it was that you probably won't be able to make it.

I plan on opening up an old 1979 Magnum of Concannon as well....

I opened one of the magnums of Stags' Leap Winery PS at my buddies birthday dinner last year, it was terrific with a steak.

It would be great to have some SoCal folks join in, perhaps you and rjquillin could car pool up? I have a bunch of wine for rjquillin too

If we want to push this into September to accommodate the SoCal folks, we could always do another local GT before then. I would propose either a Syrah or the Banger/high roller tasting we discussed previously

Looks like I'm staying local over the 4th of July holiday, so I'll be working on getting my deck/patio going and shopping for a new BBQ/smoker. If anyone wants to stop over to help with my deck project, I have plenty of wine and smokes to enjoy during the project - LOL

And if this happens a weekend molarchae and I can head up there we will certainly consider it.

2013: 66 bottles, 2012: 91 bottles, 2011: 92 bottles, 2010: 74 bottles, 2009: 30 bottles, 2008: 3 bottles My CT

I agree it would be great to have them up. I think they will both be here for the wootception, but the schedule looks pretty packed already. And they probably won't even be leaving the I-5 corridor.

This is perfect weather for pressure washing, get to it!

I'll let you know if I am swinging by to smoke your cigars... er help with the deck I mean.

Agree with the 3L advice! How about a Clayhouse? That '04 Heritage is singing as of a few months ago, but I don't think that one is going the distance... So that is a good candidate.

Even though we all meet yearly to celebrate PS and its glory, a dedicated tasting with fresh palates is really exciting to me. It makes sense that we don't open the special bottles at the after party, so this gives us our chance.

The 20th should work for us. Who's hosting?

I put the pressure washer together this afternoon, it looks great in my living room - LOL!

July might be pushing it for me, so if possible, Sept. would work best.

Just not sure about bringing a 3L Clayhouse, it'd break up my 3L vertical of them!

Plus, do you realize how much is in a 3L? That's 4 bottles!

So are we having a gathering on the 20th? Where?

Trying to make plans as things are tightening up a bit.

Per bsevern's suggestion, maybe we switch from PS to something else if Sparky and rj really are interested (and committed!) to coming up in September.

I don't think so. Currently this gathering date is TBD, so it might end up being 19 and we'll have to update the Winesmith to 20. Or vice versa.

So I can change things depending on what we decide. If the so cal people want to do a PS night then we can postpone that until September. And do something else in July. Or we can do something impromptu in July if we wanted. Up to everyone else.

I was hoping to have my deck project wrapped up by the 20th, but after ripping the stairs out, they ended up being a larger project then I envisioned, so it might not be ready by then.

I'd be willing to bet I'd be ready to go on the 21st though, as my neighbor is going to help me rebuild the stairs on the 20th
