Auto for me! Patience pays off at last!

It is well to remember that there are five reasons for drinking wine: the arrival of a friend; one's present or future thirst; the excellence of the wine; or any other reason.

“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

This is finally something I really want. I was hoping this wouldn't happen, since SIWBM must stand. For those not adhering to that sort of thing, Peter makes great Zin, especially from his estate. If you like your Zin less bombastic than many in the RRV/DCV make, then this is for you.

2014: 42 bottles. Last wine.woot: 2012 Iron Horse Estate Chardonnay

OK; in for the Wellington. Was sure we had done this in the past but nothing in the history, may have been from WSJ or another buy.

Now for a nice GSM or similar blend to make the day complete.

Bought the XYZin already. Any compelling reason why I should buy more zin today? I like zin, and all, but give me a pinot or a cab, or a meritage now and then, Woot.

Oh MAN! Why does it have to cost more than I can afford? If this were a case price, I'd be purchasing my SECOND case today.

Are you in CA? Time was when that was the norm not the exception for my orders shipped to the SF Bay Area. I'm not complaining, for the record, I honestly don't know how Woot makes $5 shipping work for wine. It's heavy and requires red tape.

Ya Manhattan Beach.
Re Shipping received my case of fizzy Cab today, 38 lbs, $5.00 shipping is a deal.

OTOH, I ordered the So be It Pinot Noir on 5/4 and just got it today.

EDIT: just saw your next post. Think your fizzy cab was from the same Woot Plus.

I still don't have my fizzy cab and the other stuff from that order. I left today for vacation. Maybe I'll have a few cases of wine when I get home. (My mom is house sitting).

Very simple - they bundle the whole price up to make the math work out. As does every site or store that ships anything anywhere ever. Basically, WD cut a deal with FedEx to ship a half case for $13 instead of $18 (or whatever), and when figuring out the deal with the wineries he has to make it work so that shipping comes off the top, then everybody else gets their cut (Amazon, WCC, winery).
