June 22nd doesn't work for us. Other than that, we're pretty open June/July, as of now at least. Throw out some dates.

Couple of College trips with my daughter the first two weeks of June so mid to late June or July will work for us.

I think molarchae and I are fine for all June/July at this point. Although there are potential travel plans in the works for a few weekends.

Cabernet Burgers with Original Blue™

1 750-ml bottle Cabernet Sauvignon
¼ cup minced shallots
1-2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temp.
2 teaspoons golden brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1½ pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 cup (6 ounces) Original Blue cheese crumbles
5 (4-inch) squares ciabatta bread, cut horizontally in half
Tomato slices & lettuce leaves

Boil wine and shallots in medium saucepan until reduced to 2/3 cup, about 20-30 minutes. Add rosemary, 1 tablespoon butter and brown sugar; whisk until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. In small bowl mix remaining butter with garlic. Set aside.
Mix ground beef, salt and pepper and 1/3 cup wine/shallot mixture. Form meat into five burgers.
Grill burgers until brown on bottom, about 3 minutes. Turn and brush with remaining wine/shallot mixture and continue grilling until cooked to desired doneness, turning and brushing occasionally with wine/shallot mixture.
Sprinkle with cheese crumbles and grill until cheese starts to melt.
Spread cut sides of bread with garlic butter. Grill bread cut side down until golden about 2 minutes or broil in oven until golden. Arrange bread cut sides up, place burgers on bottom halves, top with tomato slices and lettuce leaves. Cover with top halves of bread.
Serves 5. Wine Suggestion: Full Bodied Cabernet Sauvignon

I made these with bison for my girlfriend who doesn't eat beef and liked them.

After being away from all things Wine.Woot-related for far too long, I would love to come to this little soirée. Both June 15 and 29 work for me. I have way too much wine that deserves appreciative taste buds so I can bring several bottles, including a Ty Caton or two.

woot! purchases since 10/2006: a whole lotta wine, a few t-shirts, a bunch of miscellaneous stuff, and not one single Box Of Crackers.

Awesome! I'll update the list in a moment. With Sparky's bday weekend and no absolute oppositions to the 15th (klez?), I think we'll lock the date in for the 15th. Objections? Eh... tyger won't be able to make it the 15th, right tyger?

Contingent on kelz's and molarche's travel plans, time2testit's schedule, and your college trips, I think the 15th is the best bet. 29th is out for Sparky and cortot and the next weekend is 4th of July which is probably out for most people, although we don't do anything special so we could do it then.

I'm going to set the 15th later today unless anyone objects.

Looks like we have dinner plans for that night already. If you want to do it that weekend, though, I can look into changing that date. This is why I should *look* at the calendar before speaking.

I think that the 15th is going to be the best date unless we move into the middle of July. How moveable is that dinner date?

time2testit and I may be at Disneyland on the 15th but that is still up in the air. July may be a bit tough for us because my nieces will be here for the month but if it works best for everyone we can figure out how to make it work.

Just lurking, but still reading.
I must lead a very boring life, 15th looks clear for me as well. How do you so jam up schedules weeks-months in advance?
SWMBO actually asked when the next event was, and even allowed a red wine to touch her lips. I think she missed the Average Joe bread and fresh pasta cook.

Yay!

For everyone else, Danncer was at the inaugural SoCal gathering in Temecula (SoCal #1). Way back in February of '08!

While she says we (ClayFu, JavaDrinker, zTimBz, myself, & Nallie) didn't scare her, she's been MIA for quite a while! So happy she's popped back in.

Anyone attending the gathering want to split a case of 2008 Inspiration Zin? Jon sent me an invoice (50% off plus reduced shipping) and I am wavering since a case is a bit too high for me right now but can definitley do half a case (comes to about $15/bottle, shipping and tax included). PM me if interested.
