“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

this is an EXCELLENT wine.
so big, dark, inky, you can almost "chew" it...you'll have purple lips and grey teeth after a few sips.
word of warning, every bottle i've had has a good amount of sediment in the bottle. its almost like its unfiltered. but personally, i LOVE that.
amazing value.

Agree, both years are great.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

Last time I bought this it was a 5-pack of the 2007. As usual, split the order a few ways. It was enjoyed by all. Sorry no more specific notes.

Reading through the past comments, came across this exchange:

Absolutely. The Wooters just have to speak. I can easily make my 2004 and 2005 Syrah available for the Woot family. Maybe even do a combination pack of both wines. I will speak with Woot.com about that possibility.

Ray Merlo

Looking forward to trying the '05, glad you were able to work out a deal!

After reading about this from prior discussion, went in for case. Ray said more like Rhone/St Joseph than Cali which we love.
Oh crap...free shipping the rest of the day..and I was on the fence for the Cab/Syrah wootplus deals.

This Syrah finishes a close second the 2004 Astrale Syrah by Scott Harvey and i am disappointed that this might be the last time I will be seeing this Syrah I can't afford to buy it right now, but I'd buy two if I could.
