All you've succeeded in doing is making me realize just how long it's been since I've bought vodka.

Joey the sick spaniel is feeling better - ate some of the cruddy prescription diet his mama dragged home (low fat i/d) Now back to snoozin on the couch. Both of us. I was up and down all night checking on him, or coughing my lungs out. Yes, his mama is sick, too. this oughtta make some folks cringe, but the only way I can get to sleep w/o coughing is to put a Ricola between my teeth and let it dissolve while I am sleeping.

That sounds really dangerous.

Glad Joey's starting to feel better.

Stay away from me!
I have 12 days to not catch a cold left!

Nice morning, but cold.

Town had it's STOP (stop throwing out pollutants) today. Got rid of all the old gas and oil in the garage, and out dated drugs.
They have a paper shredding truck. Hubby went to look. They shred in front of you and then recycle the confetti.
Will bring stuff to be shredded next time they do it.

Hey everybody! Our friends are still visiting. I made Neutella brownies last night. Yummy. After torrential rain for what seemed like weeks the sun is out. Enjoy!

Volunteered at our Bountiful Baskets site. Lots of fun, but a bit tiring lifting all the boxes. Now I have a large box of veggies, loads of asparagus (and I didn't even buy the add on) and 16 cartons of strawberries and 6 pineapples. I'm going to be making freezer jam shortly. Wanted to take more stuff to storage, but it's threatening to rain and the wind is blowing too hard to risk taking anything out and hoping it stays in place. May have to turn the furnace back on.

I like it that doctors' offices will have the medical history forms online so you can download them and not try to fill out three pages worth while you're balancing a clipboard on your lap in the office. But it would be even nicer if you could fill them out online.

Nothing. Someone gave me some books to read, but I don't think I'm going to like them, so I keep putting off starting them, which is really stupid on my part because maybe I will like them. And if that's the worst thing in my life right now, I'm pretty damn lucky.

I don't know, they are all over the house.

Son got a ton a books for Christmas. He is reading them, but his stack must be 2 or 3 feet.
Isn't that what ebooks are for? He likes to write in the book.

ebooks are fine if I know it's a book that I'm probably not going to keep. But keepers, they have to be hard copy. Also to be able to loan them to others.

Been raining here. Going to a baby shower this afternoon. I'm friends with the dad and grandma so this won't be awkward and horribly uncomfortable or anything. Made a diaper cake last night (it's supposed to be a small shower and I got size 2 diapers. Wrapped the bottom layer in a blanket, the top two layers are wash clothes and socks. Hoping it's liked.

Many reading apps allow for notations, you just need to use their keyboard (snicker). I prefer real books, but am more likely to read ebooks. Real ones seem to stay by the bed while my tablet is practically glued to my hip. So 30min likely to read a real book vs ten hours available for an ebook.

KtCallista wrote:Have to be in the mood to have your heart ripped open and yanked out through your eyeballs?

Interesting interesting. Personally when reading I just sit quietly in a chair with hot tea next to me. Do you preform any other contortions while doing mundane tasks?

I make it a point NOT to read those types of books. I read for enjoyment. Pure escapism. I insist on happy endings. Anything else I get out of the newspaper and TV.
