This has been up before (Jul 10, 2012), along with other GB's from Zenaida, Tercero, R2, and a blend from Clayhouse with 70% GB).

Yes, Tablas Creek uses it in their Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc. Nom, nom, nom.

Grenache Blanc is the fourth most widely planted white grape in France. It produces rich, full wines with bright flavors and crisp acidity and is a key element in our flagship white wine, the Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc. It is also growing in popularity as a single-varietal wine, particularly in California’s Central Coast. As the name suggests, it is related to the more widely known Grenache Noir. Many grape varietals have both red and white variants; the best known is Pinot, which has Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris variations.

And perhaps you could finally put your blog link in your Woot signature line? Soon?

Thanks for the tip. Didn't realize Woot had gotten so formal! Must be the Amazon influence ;)

Thanks for sharing the info about the Grenache Blanc. I enjoy the white Pinot varietals, but more into the French Pinot Gris than the Italian Pinot Grigio. Didn't realize this was such a popular varietal.

Had Spann Vineyards' Chard/Viognier blend recently and I thought the Viogner made a great blending agent, but obviously a totally different animal.

Think I might try to find a GB and taste before I go in for four.

Let's see if my new signature works!

And there's many Syrahs that have Viognier blended in as well.

ummm.. actually ..just curious..is this turning into a real names board or something? Never realized that disclosure of a blog etc was a requirement. If so please clarify.

From what I can tell, it's been an ongoing thing where the poster in question would type out (or paste) their blog's URL at the end of each message. I remember people saying it can be moved to their signature on several other threads.

Anyone have any notes on the actual wine?

Not being pissy, but it made me wonder how sincere he was in his posts. Especially misspelling a varietal when you have a wine blog.

And the sig lines are for that stuff.


As for using names, some of them (kyle, ryan, me) are rather obvious.

Still wondering why Ryan was called out on the blog.

Duh, no. But sometimes it's easier to type part of the screen name instead of the full one, especially when it may have a number in it or is long.


Mostly because it was annoying to see it in every post and not in his sig line. It was like shouting in every post.

Imagine if every time someone related to the wine industry posted their links in every post of theirs here. Having it (the link) in the sig line is perfect for it. It's there if anyone cares to click on it.

Cheron98 used to have a wine pairing blog, and had the link in her sig line.

And my name is not Kaolis. But I do like Hall wines. ;)

Not much talk on this wine, but I remember really enjoying it. I didn't take any notes unfortunately, and CT is claiming I still have a bottle somewhere, but I highly doubt it.

It do remember it wasn't as racy/acidic as some of the GBs I like, but the overall style really worked for me.
