It's that time of the year again. The grass is fresh (at least in Arizona and Florida) and the smell of leather and horsehide is in the air. No, I'm not talking about some underground S&M club - I'm talking Baseball!
The wine.woot baseball league is back for its 3rd year! Pit your mad managing skills against your fellow wine-loving baseball aficionados. We have all you need: an easy to play weekly Head to Head format, a live draft, witty repartee (aka smack), and wine to help celebrate your victories or forget your defeats. To quote Flounder, "Oh boy, this is going to be great!".
So if you need something to do between March Madness and the beginning of football season, sign up now. Most managers are back from last year, but we still have a few spots open for newcomers.

The Draft is scheduled for Sunday March 24 at 10am PT. If you can't make it, then your team will be autodrafted using your own pre-draft rankings. Scoring starts March 31.

Have fun guys!

Live Draft Blog:
The 2013 Baseball Draft has begun. Looks like 9 of 12 made it to the draft this morning.
First pick off the board was Miguel Cabrera, then Trout, then Ryan Braun. Going to form so far.

Uh oh, Hanley picked in third round, and he's hurt and out until May. You gotta have your pre-draft lists up to date if you can't make it.
Early love for Andre Ethier.

Wrapping up the 5th round. So far I'm happy - Cabrera, Reyes, Hamel, Zimmerman, and Butler.
No weird picks lately by anyone. That's good, shows we know what we're doing.

Oops, I don't have Cabrera, I have Braun. Just dreaming I guess.
Hill and Schertzer owned now. I'm all in on Schertzer this year.
And the RP run begins in round 7, right after I pick.

Round 9 now (out of 22). Got Papelbon, and in a stretch, picked Melky C. Hopefully he can do good even without the PEDs.

Round 13. The picks are less predictable now since people are filling needs more than drafting the best available.
I though Halladay was going to fall to me, but no, then Koruda was drafted. I took Fister in a slight panic. My SP's are good at the top but I'm lacking quality depth right now, and it might be too late to make that up.
I like my starting lineup tho. Markakis and Willingham fill out my OF, and I also got Nathan for the 'pen.

Round 19 - the end is in sight! Picked up an injured RP (Madson), a backup IF (Rutledge), a couple of SP's with big question marks (Ogando, Milone). Got good value at catcher with Seattle's Montero.
Its getting Uggla out there (Corked just picked him)!

Ding! Ding! Ding! The last round has begun. Most of these picks won't still be on their teams by the all star break. My last pick (#262) was Mitchell Boggs, the temporary StL closer.
Good draft everybody. I think I need more SB's. Let the dealing begin.
