Salt lots of salt. It wicks the wine up, then when the salt dries vacuum the salt up. It works for kool aid too, but good luck keeping the child out of the salt pile.

+1 for salt. Use a whole box, get it on there as soon as possible. Beige carpet, kids, red drinks, who would have thought that was a bad idea? Sounds like jnelson203 learned the same way we did that the salt fix came straight from on high.

I saw this done for the first time at a party not long ago. I was shocked at how well it worked!
