This was my #2 on the tasting list. Big yeasty nose, lovely plum & berry mouth. Alas, it's a wootoff!, so it'll be long gone before anyone else gets to partake.

I liked this one, gave it an 8/10. Very high alcohol which is noticeable, but not as much as you would suspect with this high of alc. This is not an overly fruity Syrah (not like an Australian Shiraz). I felt it had a nice balance.

Paso Robles has been my goto spot for Syrahs that match what I want lately, and this one is no exception.

(disclaimer: this was one of my last wines tasted of the evening)

*edit* Once again, very nice deal Woot! This is very tempting. */edit*

Nice way to start a woot off. Too bad I've still got plenty of this in the cellar. Good stuff if you've got room for it.

I really enjoyed the 03'. The 05' was not as good in my opinion. And now I am really wishing I had opened the 07' so I can take advantage of this deal.

Just checked through the note sheets I collected from the non-Wooters at the Austin tasting. It's funny how most of them seem to trail off to nothing after wine 7 or 8. Unfortunately for this wine, it was number 11 on the list.

Fantastic Syrah. In for another one.

heh. Yeah, my notes are practically unreadable on page two, but my two top choices are also among them. This makes sense, as we basically went from light white wines to deep dark reds-- typically my favorites. I at least had enough tastebuds left to write YES and a big circle, along with ratings, if not enough brain cells to actually write commentary.

I hope that after 12 glasses of wine and a finger of Scotch that I wasn't as big an ass as my icon would imply. ;-)

Just jumped on this, both my wife and I liked this one at the Austin event.

My notes:
Spicy, blackberry, cloves, a little earthy.

A bit hot upon opening, best to pop open and let this one breathe before drinking (as with most Paso reds)

Very positive review from cmaldoon on the CT link.

If you managed to take any notes on wine #11, you were obviously more coherent than some other members of our group. Where were you hiding the Scotch?

I didn't pick this up last time it was offered. Figured I can't go too far wrong at the price point and with the positive vibe on this one. In for a six pack.

I got this last time - it is DELICIOUS and from what I understand sadly the last vintage they are offering for the time being. So - buy buy buy!

Just opened one from my December order. Haven't typed up my ct notes yet, but it was really nice. Jumped in on another.

For those in the bay area who wanted to try a bottle or two I will have some spares.... Just let me know

Gotta give Kudos to the Austin team for checking in to report their thoughts on the wine they tasted! Good job!

RATS!!! Just got up (7:30 here in Chicago). Missed this. I hate these midnight startups for woot offs.
