    You might not need 6 tonight but you'll wish you had a case by spring.

    Less than 900 cases we produced of this special single vineyard expression.

    This vineyard block was planted by Bob Mondavi in the early 70's and I was introduced to the property through the Silva Family.

    It sits up high on the Santa Lucia looking across the Valley right at Chalone.

    This wine like all my wines promise Layers of flavor and mid pallet texture you don't find in California

    At this price point I would guess 5 years from vintage. But the winemaker will know more.

    I had a white Rhine blend last night that was about 4 years past peak and while it was interesting to see how the wine had changed, it was not an enjoyable bottle of wine.

    One thing I have noticed about whites from SLH is the high acidity. I had a Hahn SLH Pinot Gris that was wonderful. Dry with high acidity but was ultra smooth. I really prefer my wines dry but this might be perfect for my palate if they don't come across as sweet. If not its always good to have something you can feed guests who like sweeter whites.

    You will find 8 GM/l of TA wich should make this wine a pleasure for 5 years easy

    5 to 8 years depends on your storage.

    The yeast I use in a Q23 which I feel with bottle age enhances the nose.

    Decided to open this up on a rainy Saturday eve. Light straw color. Citrusy nose; dare I say citrus blossom? Flavors of green apple and pineapple with a mineral thread underneath. Just off-dry- a light sweetness cut by bright acidity. The wine has a nice viscosity to it and a lingering finish. It's kinda yummy y'all.

    Not sure how it will pair with the caprese salad and open-faced chicken & gravy sandwiches I'm about to get into, but what the hey...
