Actually it's more of a "oh, you opened a bottle of wine? sure I'll have some" kinda thing for me. Wouldn't want to be rude, after all.

I chose (other - comment). I am willing to try any wine for variety, but as I am searching for a new wine to try I typically try to exhaust local options first, hence the "other".

When ever possible, buy local.

Go to wine tastings. Search wine classes, often cheaper than a bottle of wine, and you will start to learn things to look for with your own palate.
