Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

The same drink called in:

English - Mulled wine
Swedish - Glogg
German - Gluhwein
Russian - Glintwein(Глинтвейн)

I tried all of the above and like German version most.

Exactly. Sounded fine until they threw raisins in there.

You don't have to use raisins. You can buy a packet(s) of mulling spices at the store and maybe some cinnamon sticks... then get a cheap Merlot or something like Apothic Red.

Heat, stir, serve! Not something I would want all the time but it's a nice change of pace in the winter, especially if you've just come in from the cold.

Well, I guess it sounds better than Egg Nog at least.

Glogg is more complex and fun than just wine, spices and raisins. Add port and pour warmed flaming brandy over a sieve with sugar cubes, setting the kitchen on fire in the process. Toss in some blanched almonds and you're set to get toasty and toasted. The stuff really sneaks up on you.
