I urped in my mouth a little when I read the lick it up option because I automatically thought of the amount of cat hair over every inch of my apartment. Next cat = hairless sphinx.

I personally would never spill wine on carpet since I don't drink wine. I only check out the wine tab to see other items like vinegars, nuts, chocolates, etc. I think woot needs a FOOD or CANDY page. I'd be all over that thing. ;-)

You can also use Resolve carpet cleaner after the salt to get up any residue. Good stuff.

I would seek counseling for my alcohol abuse, I think that Fred Noe is currently making a product that may just console me.

Spill more and make a pattern so it looks like it was supposed to be that way.

All of the wine... first curse.. then slurp it up.. then clean what I can.. then open another bottle of wine, while I convince my husband that this is proof, we need new carpet.. actually we do need new carpet, perhaps, I'll buy a bottle of boones farm, and try out this plan...

carpets are a bad idea. tile floors permit red wine orgies without bourgeois concerns of spilling. Toast away, worry not.

Seltzer or Arm and Hammer washing powder mixed with water is a great red wine stain remover. They also work great on blood you know from cutting yourself on the foil or corkscrew when you open the bottle, which is how you spilled the wine in the first place.

I would suggest a game of Twister using the spill and all the earlier stains. Or maybe connect the dots.
