You can also use Resolve carpet cleaner after the salt to get up any residue. Good stuff.

All of the wine... first curse.. then slurp it up.. then clean what I can.. then open another bottle of wine, while I convince my husband that this is proof, we need new carpet.. actually we do need new carpet, perhaps, I'll buy a bottle of boones farm, and try out this plan...
