Ursa Vineyards

There's nothing cuter than a little bear playing in the berries. We don't think this is why Ursa's focused on Petite Sirah, but it's worth mentioning, right? Mostly because now you're thinking of a cute little bear and saying "Aw!" and that's step one to winning your heart.

I got the mixed pack last time, which was all 2007 (one 2008 in there now) but haven't tried them. Might have to pop one in the next couple of days and share some notes.

Tomorrow's Friday if you need an excuse.

I'm just hanging out, really.

I'm going out tomorrow, so it won't be then. I'm thinking Saturday, but I am making a giant pot of Chili on Saturday.

Does PS pair well with Chili? Maybe the Tannat?

Lamb stew. Mmmmmmm.

PS & Tannat usually are big, so they need meat. Lots of meat.

BBQ meat. Steaks. Man food!

Well my Chili is all meat...so maybe. It's not chili if it has beans in it.

Yup. The Tannat is one of the best side dishes for a good ribeye I've ever tasted. In for 2. Would be 3, but Xmas presents need buying.

Both should pair very well, especially if it's high-fat meat!

Ursa turned me on to PS. And an un-oaked Tannat (not Ursa) is one of the only red wines I have successfully paired with Thai food. I really want this but my bank account is screaming for some relief.

I like to talk about wine, but I'd rather drink it.

Got buried in grapes and forgot to check in.
Both the petite sirah and the tannat will go great with chili.

The 08 is a little more of a teeth stainer. The 07 is a little softer but still a big wine.

Just wondering, it's almost over now, you gonna do the linky thing for these, for us lazy folks. Actually, just don't want to mess up a creation.
